Giuseppe Cipriani Sr. purchases a wine shop on the island of Torcello and transforms it into a small locanda (inn) and becomes known as Locanda Cipriani.
1958
Giuseppe Cipriani Sr. opens Hotel Cipriani, located on the tip of Giudecca Island. He sold his shares in the hotel in 1967, yet it still carries the Cipriani name.
1981
Harry’s Dolci opens on the Island of Giudecca in Venice.
1985
Harry Cipriani opens in New York City on the corner of the majestic Central Park, at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue.
1988
Cipriani Industria, now Cipriani Food, opens in Venice as a workshop producing bread, pasta, desserts. It now includes a wide range of curated products available internationally.
1996
Cipriani Downtown opens in the heart of SoHo long before the neighborhood became the trendy hangout for young New Yorkers that it is today.
1999

2001
Harry’s Bar in Venice is declared a National Landmark by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
2002
Cipriani Dolci opens in the magnificently restored Grand Central Terminal.
2003
Cipriani partners with Sir David Tang and opens Cipriani Hong Kong, the brand’s first management/ license operation.
2004
Cipriani London opens on the central Davies Street in Mayfair.
2005
The first branded Cipriani residences open at Cipriani 55 Wall Street.
2010
Cipriani Yas Island, overlooking Yas Marina and the Formula 1 race circuit, opens in Abu Dhabi and is the first Cipriani location in the Middle East.
2011
Maggio and Ignazio Cipriani, fourth generation of the family, launch their independent hotel brand, Mr. C Hotels and Residences and Bellini concepts. The brand is now in Miami Coconut Grove, Providence, West Palm Beach, and Dubai.
2012
Cipriani Monte Carlo opens on the ground level of the prestigious Mirabeau building and Cipriani Ibiza opens at the Gran Hotel with stunning views of the harbor.
2013
Cipriani Downtown Miami opens in the vibrant Brickell area.
2015
Cipriani Dubai opens in the heart of the DIFC, followed by Cipriani Dolci concepts in the Dubai Mall, the Mall of The Emirates, and Jumeirah.
2016
Socialista, a new nightlife concept inspired by the interiors of Old Havana, debuts in New York with more locations in Dubai, London, Miami, Istanbul, Ibiza, and Bahrain.
2018
Cipriani Las Vegas opens at the prestigious Wynn hotel. Cipriani Riyadh debuts.
2021
Casa Cipriani, the first social membership club, opens in the historical landmark Battery Maritime Building in New York with 47 rooms and suites, many overlooking the East River, Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, a fitness and wellness floor, and a club floor with terraces, bars, restaurants and a jazz café.
2022
Casa Cipriani Milano opens near the oldest Milanese gardens, Giardini Indro Montanelli. The palazzo features 15 rooms and suites, restaurants, and a wellness and beauty center. Cipriani Istanbul and Cipriani Doha open. Harry’s Table by Cipriani, a marketplace with casual dining options, opens in the Waterline Square Development near Lincoln Center in New York City.
2023
Cipriani Mexico City, originally opened on Masaryk in 2015, finds its new location in the Reforma neighborhood overlooking the Chapultapec Castle. Cipriani Marbella opens in the heart of the Puente Romano resort. Cipriani Bahrain opened in the prestigious area of Marasi Beach. Locanda Cipriani on the island of Torcello in the Venetian lagoon, founded in 1936 by Giuseppe Cipriani Sr., was reacquired by the family.
2024
Cipriani Beverly Hills opens on North Camden Drive, offering a restaurant, a Jazz Cafe and an outdoor patio. Cipriani Residences Miami breaks ground. Construction begins for Cipriani Resort, Residences and Casino Punta del Este. Set at the site of the San Rafael Hotel, it will be the largest development project in South America.
2025
Construction begins for Cipriani Resort, Residences and Casino Batumi. Cipriani also acquires Mantra Hotel & Spa in Punta del Este, formerly a Cipriani Resort & Casino, which will become the site of the Cipriani Academy, a global hospitality education institution.
